Huichica Music Festival is an annual all-day concert at Gundlach Bundschu Winery in Sonoma, California. Conceived by winery owner Jeff Bundschu and Fruit Bat’s frontman Eric Johnson after the band’s 2009 performance at the outdoor amphitheater.
The SECOND annual Huichica Music Festival will take place on June 4, 2011.
Huichica. Pronounced We-Chica. The 152-year-old Gundlach Bundschu Winery was once part of the land called Rancho Huichica by Mexican General Mariano Vallejo, and Huichica is the name of the unique soil of the region that makes for great winegrowing.
After more than 150 years of bringing you unique, high-quality wine, Gundlach Bundschu is dedicated to bringing you the same caliber of independent music on a scale as yet unprecedented in Wine Country. The music you’ll hear at Gundlach Bundschu’s Annual Huichica Music Festival on Saturday, June 4th transcends both generation and genre. It comes from critically-lauded emerging bands with national followings that are sure to grow. Though we are biased, for our money there are few better ways to discover great wine and music than by doing both together on a summer evening overlooking our Rhinefarm.
